Rules for the Backyard Ultra

1) Course
. Loop or out and back
. Must be 4 miles 880 feet in length
. Metric equivalent 6.7056 kilometers

2) Starting Corral
. Measured to fit entire starting field
. Corral stays the same size thru out the event
. Participants must be in the starting corral at the bell

3) Starts
. Each loop starts precisely 1 hour after the last
. Warning must be given 3, 2, and 1 minutes prior to start
. All competitors must start at the bell (no late starts)

4) Loops
. Except for restrooms, competitor may not leave the course until each loop is completed
. No non-competitors on the course (including eliminated runners)
. No personal aid during a loop (common aid stations are allowed)
. Each loop must be completed within an hour to be counted… including the final lap.
. No artificial aids (including trekking poles)
. Slower runners must allow passes.

5) Timing
. Timing of the loops is optional

6) Winner/Results
. The winner is the last person to complete a loop
. All others are technically DNF
. Results of each runner in terms of distance covered are to be given.
. If no runner can complete one more loop than anyone else, there is no winner.

7) Cap
. Race must be open ended.

1. As a runner, I accept that I obey the rules declared by the organization.

1.a. While coming to any area of the competition, I know that I have to follow the rules of the Ministry of Health, have a mask, spare mask, portable hand disinfectant (at least 70% alcohol-based) for myself, avoid close contact with other individuals and follow distance rules. I agree that I have to follow the organization's contact-reducing and crowd-blocking rules.

1.b. By coming to the competition area on the day of the event and starting the competition; I accept and declare that I'm not and have not been  covid-19 positive, or have no complaints in the last 14 days such as fever, runny nose, nasal congestion, sneezing, coughing, sore throat, muscle joint pain, inability to smell. 

1.c. Despite I have none of the symptoms above, I'm aware might have a Covid-19 infection and I may be carrying the virus without any symptoms, and I can feel the infection later.

1.d. By coming to the competition area on the day of the event and starting the competition; I'm aware that I will be declaring that I have had no close contact (including a handshake, talk, interview, etc.) in the past 14 days with any person with symptoms or complaints of the above.

1.e. By clicking register below, you are acknowledging that an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. By attending the event, you and any guests voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19 and agree not to hold Macera Akademisi Ltd, Turkish Athletics Federation, or any of their affiliates, directors, officers, employees, agents, contractors, or volunteers liable for any illness or injury.

3. Obeying the general traffic, property, and safety rules is racers' own responsibility. It is forbidden for them to use areas, passes, and methods that are declared illegal/out of bounds by the organization. The responsible party for the legal problems that might arise due to violation of this rule will solely be the participant; the organization cannot be held responsible in any way.

The organization may disqualify and doesn't accept applies from participants don't respect or disturb other participants, staff, local people.

4. The participants who are found inconvenient for continuing the race by the referees or health personnel shall be prevented from the racing. This decision is final and unobjectionable. I accept I don't have any medical or physical problems joining that event.

5. I accept that rights of the photos, images, videos, and any kind of digital data taken during the race shall belong to the organization and no right can be demanded from them.

6. I declare and accept those; I gave information are about me are current and right. And Macera Akademisi LTD and its sponsors might send race announcements, news or bulletins about new races via SMS or e-mail. The racer gives his consent on this issue at the registration.

7. I accept that Macera Akademisi has the right to share my name, surname, country, age, company details via websites, social media, and media with the aim of informing, dealing, or marketing.

8. I accept that Macera Akademisi can send me an e-mail or SMS about current or future events.

9. By that document; I accept on behalf of ‘me, my heirs, my managers, my envoys’, organization cant be held any responsible about injuries, loss, damages I may have before, during, or after that event. And there is no medical or physical problem to join that event.

if there are any inconsistencies between the Turkish version of the Terms and its translated version, the Turkish version of the Terms shall prevail over others.

10- The terms of cancellation: Cancellation and Refund Policy:

If participation would like to cancel the registration to the race for any reason, the following cancellation and refund conditions apply:

• For cancellation requests made within 15 days of the registration date, until 30 days before the race day, 90% of the race fee will refund 
• Race fee will not refund for cancellation requests made less than 30 days before the race day.
• Race fee and chest number can not transfer to another race or another person.
